I use Texas Electronics rain gauges https://texaselectronics.com/tipping-bucket-rain-gauges/ and a ProTrinket with the Mayfly for my precipitation monitoring. It looks like your rain gauges also operate with a reed switch.

I sent you some code last year that should work with the Y511-A. I can’t tell what other changes you’ve made to the code, but in snippet you posted above, the address should be 0x01 on line 7, not 0x02.

Also tried with another Yosemitech 511-a, same behavior so don’t think it’s an
issue with the sensor.

Hey,
Using the Yosemitech 511-a, with the regular code[snippet below], on a ver 1.1 mayfly, using the older modbus wing.
I get
YosemitechY511 at modbus_0x02 reports temperature is -9999.0 degreeCelsius
YosemitechY511 at modbus_0x02 reports turbidity is -9999.00 nephelometricTurbidityUnitThe sensor turns on, wipes back and forth 3 times, I…[Read more]

@shicks I wanted to run by what my thought process is with these relays and some of the questions I have now that I have purchased a few. I think my questions are general enough that you should be able to help me with them. I am looking to connect the Seeed relay to the D10-D11 grove terminal on the Mayfly. This would connect the relay’s SIG pin…[Read more]

During the Hologram outage last week, 12 of my old stations in the field (all Mayfly 0.5 and Digi modems) stopped reporting measurements over the Internet. Then when Hologram fixed the problem, 10 of these stations (which have been running since 2020), came back online and reported all their measurements including the time Hologram was down.…[Read more]

Setting the channel twice did the trick.
Thanks!

Would anyone have a Mayfly sketch for rain gauges such as METER’s ECRN-50 or -100 or Campbell’s Rainvue 10 (i.e., SDI 12 interface)? If it incorporates an Adafruit Trinket, all the better, but if it doesn’t, no problem.

Shannon Hicks replied to the topic Hydros21 sensors not returning data in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 1 year, 9 months ago
When you did the address changing sketch, did you get a positive result using the serial monitor that showed the channel was changed to something other than 1? Sometimes there’s a glitch where you have to set the channel twice before the change actually happens and it stays on the new channel.
What sketch are you using for the logging sketch…[Read more]

We tried that but are still getting -9999 values.

Shannon Hicks replied to the topic Hydros21 sensors not returning data in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 1 year, 9 months ago
Did you do the example “b_address_change” sketch first, to change the sensor’s default channel from 0 to 1?

kwolfe started the topic Hydros21 sensors not returning data in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 1 year, 9 months ago
We are unable to get our Hydros 21 CTD sensor to return data. We are getting -9999 values on both the SD card and the website. All the connections are secure. The SDI-12 address is set as follows:
<div>
<div> const char* hydrosSDI12address = “1”; // The SDI-12 Address of the Hydros 21</div>
<div> const uint8_t hydrosN…[Read more] -

Yay! Glad to hear! I can email you the website link and login credentials.
andrew3000@berkeley.eduWhat’s the name of your site? Right now it’s only set up to run on meter hydros 21 sensors but i should be able to add some new ones pretty quick. Also what is the location of the site/name of the town you plan on using for incorporating…[Read more]

I recently launched an alarm system webapp built on top of monitor my watershed to enable email alerts based on both sensor values and local weather forecasts. Is interested in testing it out and giving me feedback? No downloads or programming needed.
Here is a demonstration video! I will be releasing the source code likely by the end of this…[Read more]

Shannon Hicks replied to the topic Continous HAB monitoring in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 1 year, 9 months ago
They are actually Turner Designs Cyclops-7F sensors that we use for measuring chlorophyll and phycocyanin (https://www.turnerdesigns.com/cyclops-7f-submersible-fluorometer). They are supported by the ModularSensors library and there’s more information about them here: https://envirodiy.github.io/ModularSensors/group__sensor__cyclops.html

Yes, the Stroud Center has a Campbell Scientific phycocyanin sensor deployed on a Mayfly Data Logger. @shicks might be able to share code with you.

Elliot Ma replied to the topic Cannot Connect to Internet with SIM in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 1 year, 9 months ago
Funnily enough, I’m having the exact same issue! Also using the ClariVUE 10 turbidity sensor. It seems that the logger is writing to the SD card instead of connecting to the SIM. Hologram is basically telling me the SIM is online and ready to be communicated with, it just isn’t receiving anything.
