Thanks but I can’t use the jack end. I have to be able to plug in a jumper wire that then plugs directly into a board.

Just adding to this thread.  I have had this twice.  Tonight I couldn’t find a solution despite trying different browsers and incognito mode.

Perfect. Go with a 4 pin. The 3.5 mm jack only has 4 pins/connections over the length of the jack. Here’s a photo that might help. You should be using the same modbus address that you use when connected to the computer.
