Home › Forums › Mayfly Data Logger › System Hangs with Hologram Outage
During the Hologram outage last week, 12 of my old stations in the field (all Mayfly 0.5 and Digi modems) stopped reporting measurements over the Internet. Then when Hologram fixed the problem, 10 of these stations (which have been running since 2020), came back online and reported all their measurements including the time Hologram was down. Two of the stations were hung and did not come online. They had to be powered off/on and did NOT continue to log measurements during the outage. Coincidently, these 2 stations have been running since 2022 and have slightly newer software including TinyGsm. It seems that the modem somehow hung these Mayfly’s AND it seems that it has something to do with the level of software.
Does anybody have some insight into the cause of this hang? I can’t see a reason why/how the modem could hang the Mayfly or cause an infinite loop in my code.
I’m considering going BACK to my old software and/or going FORWARD to the latest version of TinyGsm.
