There are descriptions of the battery and solar panel options in section 6 of the Monitoring Station Manual knowledge base, and also on this page about Mayfly Logger Battery Options.

Hi everyone, I’m in the process of ordering the mayfly and three probes. I am looking to purchase a stronger battery and solar panel than the ones in the starter kit. Does anyone have any recommendations? price range is 10-50 dollars.

Discovery_Center started the topic Mounting Sensor on Floating Buoy in the forum Infrastructure and Equipment 8 months, 1 week ago
Hi everyone, I am planning to install a sensor on a 32-acre reservoir that has a max depth of 8 ft. My plan as of now is to install it on a large (~6x6ft) flat floating buoy that would be anchored to the ground via a rope and cinder block. The buoy shouldn’t move around significantly, at most as much slack as I give the rope. Does anyone think…[Read more]

No, we’ve been busy with other projects and haven’t had time to do any more testing with the Digi modules.

What do you mean by “it has told me the file belongs to another station”? The Mayfly is giving you that warning? Or do you get that warning if you try to manually upload files to MonitorMyWatershed. How many files are on the microSD card after a week-long or month-long deployment? It should be one continuous file unless the logger is resta…[Read more]

Shannon Hicks replied to the topic LTE Bee compatibility with older mayfly boards in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 8 months, 1 week ago
Yes, the EnviroDIY sim7080 LTEbee module is compatible with the previous versions of the Mayfly board. There are no hardware changes to do, but you will have to edit your code slightly. The v1.x boards control power to the Bee socket (bee header pin 1) by using the the Mayfly’s D18 pin, allowing you to completely turn the 3.3v supply to the b…[Read more]

Hi,
Is the LTE Bee (sim7080G modem) compatible with older Mayfly data-logger boards? I read in some documentation that it could be used with Mayfly V0.5b boards with minor changes to code. Is it also compatible with Mayfly 0.4/0.5 boards, if so what hardware/code changes need to be made?
Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers.

I have replaced the Micro SD card and the battery with new. I used the recommended battery and fully charged it before installation. I have been using the horizontal on board micro SD card socket all along. So I added a new vertical Micro SD card socket I had on the shelf. I get no change. A few times it has told me the file belongs to ano…[Read more]

Hi, Has anyone successfully integrated a weather station with their Mayfly data logger? If so, do you have recommendations on what works best or what I should look out for? In GitHub (ModularSensors » Examples Using ModularSensors » Everything at Once – a la carte » Example showing all possible functionality | ModularSensors0.36.0), I see this “&…[Read more]

Hi Shannon,
I was wondering if you had a chance to revisit the Digi modules and if so, did you have any success?
Thank you,
Caroline

Have you replaced the battery pack with another, fully-charged one? Sometimes when they are going bad (the metal under the battery’s plastic wrapper rusts after a few years in enclosures with condensation issues) they can cause intermittent power outages, which are sometimes hard to detect if your solar panel is capable of supplying enough power…[Read more]

Alec Armstrong replied to the topic Error Compiling for board EnviroDIY Mayfly 1284p in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 8 months, 3 weeks ago
Back to what a few others were saying about the compilation problem – I had the same issue, failed to compile a sketch based on the DWRI logging examples, got the error message tied to “AlphasenseCO2.cpp” because of the line “#include <Adafruit_ADS1X15.h>”. I noticed that the Adafruit_ADS1x15 folder in the .zip file that came with the very…[Read more]
