EnviroDIY Workshop: Relocating and Updating a Monitoring Station
September 10, 2025 @ 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

- When: Wednesday, September 10, 2025, 1 to 5 p.m.
- Where: Stroud Water Research Center, 970 Spencer Road, Avondale, PA 19311.
- Audience: Those with intermediate experience in managing and working with an EnviroDIY monitoring station.
- Cost: Free. Registration is limited to 12.
EnviroDIY empowers people with innovative digital and electronic tools and training that enable cost-effective and customizable environmental measurements.
This workshop will focus on relocating a standard Stroud Center EnviroDIY Monitoring Station, equipped with the Meter Hydros 21 CTD sensor; however, the skills apply to other contexts in which a Mayfly data logger/EnviroDIY Monitoring station needs to be repurposed.
Topics will include:
- Removing a station from a stream.
- Reinstalling a station in a new location.
- Adjusting site details on Monitor My Watershed to represent the new station location.
- Making minor edits/updates to Mayfly data logger code.
Please note:
- Station owner login credentials are required to adjust the Monitor My Watershed site details.
- Attendees needing to reprogram a Mayfly logger will need to bring their own laptop computers (this will equip users with the computer programs needed for future station relocations).
Is This Workshop Right for Me?
- Are you currently managing an EnviroDIY Monitoring Station?
- Do you have a station that may need to be relocated, but you’re unsure about all the details involved?
- Would you like to learn how to remove and install a station?
- Would you like to learn how to adjust and add sites in Monitor My Watershed and add key pieces of site information?
- Would you like to learn a bit about programming a Mayfly data logger?
What Are the Prerequisites?
Workshop attendees should answer yes to all of the “Is this workshop right for me?” questions above.
