Sedhead started the topic xBee Wifi module intermittently connecting in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 3 weeks, 6 days ago
We have a working sketch for a Maxbotix Sonar to read water level in basement sumps on our campus. The sonar is getting good readings and appears to be logging to the SD card fine. However, we are finding that we only get intermittent logging to MMW via the modem. We are using a DigiXbee wifi modem that connects to a wireless network on our…[Read more]

Sedhead started the topic Fetching MMW data from one sensor? in the forum Monitor My Watershed 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Greetings, I am wondering if anyone is willing to share code with me that demonstrates how you access MMW data from a single sensor and use it in other applications in quasi-realtime? I have a student that would like to activate a strand of LEDs based on the water level of a gage that is a site on MMW. I am guessing that there is a thread…[Read more]

Let me lay the cards on the table: I am coming back to sensor construction after a five year hiatus (I’m a geology/env sci prof and covid sort of wiped out cool things like this for me). So I’m trying to spin back up and I’m hoping to implement a water level sensor in our university’s water sumps to monitor ‘invisible’ water as it flows through…[Read more]

Anyone out there able to share code or link to a thread here on using the Maxbotix ultrasonic sensor for water surface elevation measurement? I would like to see fully operational code with Mayfly board.

Thanks for you input, Neil. We decided to try out the Feather mainly for cost issues, and it seems fine for a lot of things, but it just isn’t working with the sensor we have. Seems to have problems communicating with the Serial port. I can read other I2C sensors, but this one is giving me fits.
We looked at the Mayfly and decided to try out the…[Read more]

I am teaching a senior level environmental science course and one of the research groups is installing piezometers in a wetland. We have decided to build a water level sensor using an Adafruit Feather datalogger with a realtime clock and an MS5803-14BA Breakout from Sparkfun for the depth sensor. We can do differential pressure if we need to (we…[Read more]
