About Me

I design and implement environmental sensor networks.  Currently, I am teaching at the University of Dayton within the Electrical Engineering and Geology Departments where I have received funds for Internet of Things pedagogy development and the implementation of living labs for experiential student education. My work and publications contribute to affordable and standardized real time  sensor webs. To achieve my goals, my approach combines traditional sensor networking research with the current trends within the Internet of Things. Lastly, I advocate the use of open innovation, encouraging collaboration and open source software within distributed sensing.  Some of my current tools are Circuit python, Lorawan, web hooks and data science platforms.
