We haven’t had a chance to do further testing on why the Digi modules only worked a few times after startup, but it sounds like you experienced the same thing we did. We’ll see if we can revisit the issue and make sure our existing software examples work with them or if we’ll have to make a few changes.

Hello,
Thank you for your quick response Bob! To be honest, I am fairly new to working with the Mayfly boards. I was wondering if anyone at EnviroDIY had any luck with the modems since this was initially posted in September and if so, could direct me to an example sketch to use that turns off the 2G fallback. Or if there is any other sketch that…[Read more]

Hi Jake, I’ve checked with the Seagull developer at GLOS. It is technically possible but will require them to do some coding on their end. I’ll keep you posted.

@caroline@wachusett I checked with our Technical Support team. They suggested you review the electrical characteristics

Hello,
<p class=”user-nicename”>@bblumenscheid or any other EnviroDIY user who may know, I was wondering if you know whether both the Digi XBee 3 Global (GM2) and the Digi XBee 3 Low-Power (GM1) modems work on the Mayfly 1.1 board in the U.S.? We have the Global GM2 modem and we have not been able to send data to MMW successfully. It uploaded one…[Read more] -

Hi All. I’m working with the Great Lakes Observing System to assess the viability of sharing our data through their data portal. https://seagull.glos.org/landing
I’m wondering if there is potential to send our data to Seagull through MMW?
Thanks.

Nuts that it sounds like the switch might be oxidizing. The switch solves a power vampire problem by switching off the CP210x – so I would expect the processor to carry on working. You might check what the humidity levels are in the unit, ensure that its largely isolated from fogs and possibly put in some dessicant to dry it out. At one point I…[Read more]

On a Linux box(but really any platform I suspect), especially with mayflies that have been in the field for a time, the USB port goes dead. Strangely the Mayfly seems to continue to work, you just can’t connect to the serial port, and or upload new code. You can tell because with the USB switch(the double dip switch for power light and USB l…[Read more]

Hi Eric. this is a voltage sensor, so it fits a pretty basic type of sensor, measure the voltage and then translate it to depth.
For a sensor, layers of calibration give value. Calibration of the sensor to defined units (V to mm), and calibration of the water height to the measured height in the flume.
The accuracy sounds pretty reasonable, for…[Read more]

Thank you for the replay. Do you know the data logger’s maximum sampling rate (logging rate)? A LICOR rep said that the LI-710 transmits 10 Hz data
