@ckillen sorry to hear about the problems – I make the assumption that a sub-module can always lockup, and may need a hard reset/power cycle to bring it back. Internal modem software can only be as good as its tested, sub-modules comms software is complicated and its very difficult to test for all cases.

The Maylfy1.1 now supports a power off c…[Read more]

edit to the above email: Sorry I don’t have any experience with the 12V batteries, or 12V to 5V.

I would note that the Mayfly1.0 charger is different than 0.5b, and I’m seeing that it wants a slightly higher+5V than the Mayfly 0.5b for it to do a 0.5A charge of the LiIon battery. I am using USB charging monitor “USB Meter” to monitor the charge…[Read more]

This is great news! Thank you @srgdamiano and @ckillen!! I’ve begun ordering parts for 9 additional stations and have been fearing that buying another 9 XBee3 LTE-M modems was going to lead us into a world of frustration with failing modems; hopefully this discovery prevents that.

Regarding XBee firmware: Just a week ago, we deployed a batch of…[Read more]

You know, though, I’ve never actually done it. Time to walk down the hall to borrow Shannon’s soldering iron..

Hi @ckillen, The Bee socket on the Mayfly makes it easy for the Mayfly to hook up with any radio with that connection/communication protocol. The socket can be used for several types of radios, including the 2G one that you have, WIFI radios, and the new XBee3 by Digi, that supports LTE-M communication…[Read more]
