Jim Moore replied to the topic Errors compiling DRWI_SIM7080LTE.ino code in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 2 years, 2 months ago
@srgdamiano @hicks
Current status of my problem; I am using the 0.5 Mayfly board and have changed to appropite line from 18 to -1 and I get compile errors related to NeosWSerial.ccp. I have updated all my libraries and still get the same error.
If I comment out the lib entry for NeoSWSerial the sketch compiles but when loaded the console…[Read more]

Shannon Hicks replied to the topic Keller CTD Sensor in the forum Environmental Sensors 2 years, 2 months ago
We haven’t used that sensor at Stroud, but after looking at the spec sheet, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work with one of our newer Mayfly models that generates 12v. You’ll need a Modbus interface if you want to use that protocol, so either building your own or using the one we’ll be releasing soon. For SDI-12, it should work directly connected t…[Read more]

Zeke Holloman started the topic Mayfly I2C Address in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 2 years, 2 months ago
Hi there! Does the Mayfly have an I2C address associated with it? I’m trying to use Wire.h to transmit data between two Mayflys. If it does, where could I find it, for both the 0.5b and the 1.0. Thank you!

James B started the topic Progress with Hydreon RG-15 Rain Sensor and TippingBucketRainCounter in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 2 years, 3 months ago
I have been testing out the solid-state rain gauge manufactured by Hydreon, model RG-15. The sensor works successfully as a drop in replacement for a standard tipping bucket style rain gauge both as a stand alone device using the TippingBucketRainCounter Master/Slave code and also with the ModularSensors code as Master, in both cases using th…[Read more]

neilh20 replied to the topic Connecting SIM7080 to New Thingspeak in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 2 years, 3 months ago
@zeke-holloman I agree with @srgdamiano, Mathworks have gone down the path of making it difficult to test a small number of devices against thingspeak, since it was added to ModularSensors publishers.
A bit of shame since I’ve had some simple devices working reliably against it since 2013.
Also unfortunately, “the real world” is that testing…[Read more]

I was able to add it without issue. Thanks so much, @heather and @srgdamiano!

Hi Fiona. We thought these were already in MonitorMW but Sara (@srgdamiano) was going to check. If they’re not, she’ll be able to add them for you. Thanks for your patience!

neilh20 replied to the topic Using Xbee Cellular Modem with ThingSpeak in the forum Mayfly Data Logger 2 years, 8 months ago
Hello @rick-vogel – sounds fascinating & fun to use python in the Xbee. Though for ModularSensors there are layers of software that allow the physical modem to be abstracted so it could be possible to use another LTE when it becomes available (0.30.0 seems to have hooks for a new LTE modem SIM7080G) – through TinyGSM. As a Class package that @srgd…[Read more]

Hi all! I’m working on developing a water monitoring station using a Mayfly board, an Xbee cellular modem (XBC LTE-M/NB-IoT Global), the LTEBee adapter, a solar panel, and a Hydros-21 sensor. I saw that you all had already written some Arduino code for logging to ThingSpeak, so I’m using that. I had some issues getting the modem to connect to the…[Read more]

An update to my stability testing, this partly makes me collect the dates and status.
A test system “tu_rc_EC” standalone EC “Stream Disconnect” monitor built on 0.25.0 has been running since the beginning of Oct very well. I plan on describing this and haven’t done so yet.
The “TUCA-NA13” remote Verizon wireless system in the wilds measuring…[Read more]

Hello @srgdamiano
I really appreciate there is a lot of work that has gone into the layers of SDI-12 protocol. I’m using it to communicate with the Insitu LT500. I only have one as they are expensive and its part of a project that can spare it at the moment. With the Arduino-SDI-12 v2.1.3 release the LT500 response has stopped being decoded, b…[Read more]

Thanks to both of you for your responses! I think I had just figured out the cause of my problem right about the time you were posting them, but needed to continue refining and testing my code before replying.
What’s working now is:
- In the sensor’s setup() function, set trigger pin to an output
- at powerUp(), set pin HIGH
- at wake(), run the…

I am using Atom with PlatformIO. How do I turn the linter tools on? thanks also for the tip on ‘extVoltage’. I was going to write a function that did the same thing as the unnecessary repetition was starting to bug me!

I’d like to give my thanks to @srgdamiano for the excellent job in doing releases and also documenting them in different places including the platformio.ini . The git managed source control is core to being able to build reliable loads. Absolutely amazing the distributed gits.

Thanks @srgdamiano — and thanks so much for announcing the release here on the forum and sharing links to the release notes on GitHub!

Hi @mbarney, I’m combing through the forum topics with no replies, hoping to get some answers for folks, and found this one you posted last July. I’m sure you already discovered this, but the three example code links you listed no longer return 404s. Perhaps @srgdamiano was reorganizing the examples at the time?
