About Me

I only recently discovered your wonderful public forum. I live in Canada, Edmonton, Alberta and it seems, apparently, I am the only member from “up here”;-) . My interests, as far as envirodiy is concerned, are lower power data logger and instrumentation as well as sensor design. I very much value the open source concept and the sharing of knowledge and hope to contribute occasionally as much as time allows me. Previous efforts have been collaboration with Northern Widget and since 2001 my own modular weather station projects. This project included the development of a rugged ultrasonic snow height sensor in 2007. I worked on and off on a variety of other sensors, including water height sensors utilizing capacitive and pressure based concepts. I have also done quite a bit of work with thermocouples and Pt type temperature sensor electronics and fw.  A few years I also dove into the design of a sunshine sensor which I have been testing as part of my weather station sensor collection for a few years now.  I have been somewhat a late comer to the Arduino scene and feel it is a very suitable platform concept for our work and deserves further development effors and evolutionary efforts. Anyways, that’s a little about me.
